Update:  4/7/2021 Heddy died after a brief illness...most likely a blood clot, though not confirmed.

I've had a rough go recently but things are looking up for me now that I'm in the care of NTBHR.  I was a stray found by Animal Control after having a litter (puppies weren't with me when I was found).  I am so thin my ribs are showing and my skin had some serious raw spots.  I've been spayed, I'm on a grain free diet to help the skin to clear up.  My foster mom has added some healthy yummy enhancements to my food too!  I hope to add about 10lbs to my skinny frame and be in top notch condition before long.  I'm a pretty quiet girl and love my crate (go in/out when the door is open during the day) and I love the soft bed for my bones too!  I am totally house trained with a doggy door!  Right now it's mostly eat and rest for me but check back later as my strength and skin improves.  I hope I will be ready for my 'furever' home shortly.

4/18/2014 update!  I'm gaining weight (2.5lbs so far, maybe need another 8 lbs), my energy has picked up, and I'm smelling pretty good these days (thanks to the grain free food and the oatmeal baths).  The stinky shelter smell is gone!  I'm playing a little more with the resident basset...a little running and barking is a sure sign I'm out of the depression I was in!  I've even looked at the gate on the fence as if I needed to get out and see what's beyond the backyard.  Oh no foster mom says it WON'T happen!  I'm ready to take interview for my new food slaves!  Who knows it could be YOU?

5/25/2014 Update!  I've reached 38.5 lbs!  I'm looking good, ribs aren't poking out now.  Foster Mom says 3-4 more pounds and I'll be GREAT(she wishes SHE had such a slow weight gain!).  I had a spa day last week and the groomers said I was such a good girl.  I look great no more flaky dander and I smell sooooo good!  I was a such a good girl!
