Rufus is such a sweetheart and a very loving boy. He rides well in the car-very quiet, loves to go on walks (needs a little improvement with the leash which will come with practice). Rufus gets on well with the resident dogs at the foster home. He can sit for his treats! He LOVES kids! He also loves his crate! He is a small boy at 40 lbs. and should not get any bigger. He recently had some surgery on his spine to help with his hind quarters. His recovery is going quite well with more improvement expected as time passes. He will be ready for his fur-ever home before too much longer!! Check back for updates. Rufus is crippled in his back legs due to a neurological disorder, and is incontinent and has little control over his bowels. Neuro-surgery was performed on him this summer, but results will not be known in full until November. He is showing some improvement in his ability to control his bladder, and has shown a little improvement physically as well. He is a true Special Needs basset, but his heart is in perfect shape!
