Poor little Sophia, her owner died, so the family took her to a shelter in North Texas in hopes of finding her a new home. Once examined by their vet, they discovered she had heartworms, so was only available to Rescues. She was already showing signs of stress and depression, even after only 2 days in the shelter, so NTBHR came to her rescue. She is now calming down, becoming quite affectionate. She doesn't bark much, just a little whimper now and then, mostly when left alone. She is going to adjust just fine and make a wonderful companion as soon as she completes her heartworm treatment.
